Canoe Sailing is a truly adventurous way to travel by canoe. We have equipped our canoes with specialist canoe sailing equipment from Solway Dory.
Whether you’re new to canoe sailing or not, this exciting guided trip will fill you with a sense of adventure.
If you have never sailed a canoe before, you will spend the morning in a tandem canoe with your guide who will show you the ropes and explain the skills required to sail a canoe effectively, before handing you the controls. After breaking for lunch (we can arrange for a delicious packed lunch to be provided by the Ariundle Centre) you will be given the controls of your own canoe to sail solo, under your guide’s watchful eye.
If you have some previous canoe sailing experience, why not get straight on with sailing your own canoe alongside your guide.
Colin or Katrina will meet you at the Sunart Camping site’s “Bothy” where you will be provided with all the essential equipment for this trip. Most of the time, canoeing is a dry pastime but canoe sailing has an increased risk of capsize. We will do our best to keep you dry, and will provide you with a drysuit to wear if possible, but we have a limited range of sizes available at the current time. Please ensure that you bring spare warm clothing as described in our kit list.
As this is a 1:1 experience with your guide, we are only able to offer this to over 18’s.
